It's my go-to when I need inspiration or to get my head in a better place--just brings me peace:) I sure don't know how you can get those fine lines out of that brush; also, amazing that you can paint without having to put your hand down on the canvas to steady it....magic? Gebahi, you should try Schmincke Norma Blue watermixable oils, if you can get them. They are the most like traditional oils. It's a German brand, they migh be expensive where you are, but they are worth every penny. They don't do cadmiums and cobalts in their watermixable line, but they have excellent imitations which are also very opaque and mix almost like the original pigments although made with bismuth yellow and pyrole reds. I consider this a plus. The pigmentation is excellent, and the paints are very thick and buttery. I personally have tried Schmincke Norma Blue, Cobra Artist, Lukas Berlin and Winsor Newton Artisan, and that's the exact order in which I would put them in terms of quality. Unfortunately, Schmincke Norma Blue can only be bought in small 35 ml tubes (except for titanium white which they sell also in 120 ml tubes). However, they have a 8-tube-set (and, right now, they have also the Daily-Painting-Set with 7 tubes including 3 of their cadmium imitations). Try them, if you can, you will be pleased, I'm sure. No affiliation, just a (very) pleased user.

      @@GebahiArtworks Thank you for replying. Gebahi, can you share with me what brushes proved great performers using acrylic paint. I use both synthetic and hog bristle brushes, and I find the natural hair brush to work better than the synthetic, because the nylon hairs deform and tend to curl up or out after a while. I also would like to know what acrylic brand you use that does not skin over quickly while painting the way you do? I use a stay-wet palette to keep mine fresh for several days, but it is a hassle to use and store in the refrigerator between paintings. Thank you.

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks 5 днів тому

      @@AD-zy4qw yes, so the brushes I’m currently using are the Princeton Catalyst with black bristle, they are a synthetic blend and work really well for me!. As far as paint goes, my two top contenders are Golden and Liquitex, perhaps a bias towards liquitex professional heavy body acrylics! If you want longer working times then perhaps Golden Open acrylics will work for you. But I feel they are more transparent than the regular Golden Heavy body acrylics! By the way, you don’t need to put the staywet palette in the fridge! Just put a damp sponge in and close the lid. It’ll stay wet for over a week even outside at room temperature!

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks 5 днів тому

      @@AD-zy4qw I also use a misting bottle to spray over my paints a couple times during a session. But since I paint fast I hardly have to! But sometimes I do a spray over just to keep the moist! I have a video on how to keep your paints wet while painting if you look for it on my channel!

    • @GebahiArtworks

      You can use 2-3 coats of professional gesso, or you can buy a spray can of B.I.N 123 or Kilz, both are stay blockers and sealers as well! With spray cans you get a nice smooth surface. But you prefer texture, then brush on gesso!

    I understood most of what was said. Your perspective was proven by the size of boats. The tall bush was great but the in finished edge on the right makes this painting a less than great.. The bush on my right is an eye stoper there is no eye stopper on the left. Eye stoppers is used to draw the eye to the center and keep the viewers eye in the center of the painting. At end of viedo I caught my eyes slowly creeping off the center to the left. A great way to fix would be a dark cloud from horizon to top of canvas. The dark cloud would keep the viewers eye in the center of your painting. Paint should go to the left edge of canvas. Or even a dead tree from four ground to all mos top of canvas. I don't mean this comment as destructive I mean it in a constructive way. Maybe you know this and competed the painting. You stoped the video because of the length.
